1. POSITION: DATA ANALYST

JOB OVERVIEW

We are seeking a detail-oriented and commercially minded Data Analyst to support our Supermarkets with accurate reporting, insights, and recommendations that drive operational and financial performance. This role is critical in helping Supermarkets analyse trends of sales performance, gross profit, margin loss, exceptions, competition, and improvement opportunities across the retail network.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Provide ongoing visibility and reporting on sales, GP, shrink, margin loss, stock movement, competition and category performance.
• Analyse business data to identify trends, risks, exceptions, and emerging opportunities.
• Deliver clear, actionable insights and recommendations that support store teams and management in decision-making.
• Produce regular dashboard and performance reports for multiple retail departments.
• Respond to ad hoc reporting requests from management in a timely and accurate manner.
• Work closely with store and head office teams to ensure data interpretation is understood and applied operationally.
• Assist in the development and refinement of reporting templates, KPI scorecards, and analytical tools.
• Validate data accuracy and ensure reliable and consistent reporting standards.
• Identify opportunities to improve data processes, automation, and performance tracking.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

• Previous experience in retail analytics, commercial analysis, or business reporting preferred.
• Strong analytical mindset with the ability to translate data into meaningful insights.
• Proficiency in Excel, reporting tools, BI platforms, or retail systems (experience in POS or ERP environments advantageous).
• Understanding of retail reporting metrics including sales, GP, shrink, stock and category performance.
• Strong communication skills and ability to present insights to non-technical stakeholders.
• High attention to detail, accuracy, and deadline-oriented work style.
• Ability to manage multiple incoming reporting requests and prioritise effectively.
