1. 1. POSITION: REFRIGERATION MECHANIC

   JOB OVEVIEW

   We are seeking a qualified and reliable Refrigeration Mechanic to join our maintenance team. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality scheduled maintenance, servicing, and breakdown support across our commercial refrigeration systems that services 4 x supermarkets, 3 x manufacturing factories, 1 x holding freezer facility and 50+ refrigerated containers. This role requires strong technical capability and the ability to plan, coordinate, and complete work efficiently and professionally.

   KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

   • Carry out scheduled maintenance, repairs, and servicing of commercial refrigeration systems to a high standard.
   • Respond to breakdowns promptly and effectively to minimise equipment downtime.
   • Diagnose faults and ensure safe, compliant rectification work.
   • Coordinate and plan daily and weekly job schedules, ensuring maintenance plans and priorities are met.
   • Work collaboratively with store management, contractors, and other trades to support smooth operations.
   • Maintain accurate documentation, service records, and job completion reports.
   • Ensure all work is carried out in line with relevant safety, regulatory, and operational standards.
   • Provide professional technical advice and recommendations for system improvements and preventative solutions.

   SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

   • Trade qualification in Refrigeration & Air Conditioning (essential).
   • Proven experience in commercial or industrial refrigeration maintenance and repair.
   • Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills.
   • Ability to plan, organise, and prioritise workloads in a high-volume environment.
   • Strong communication skills and ability to work independently or within a team.
   • Valid driver’s licence and relevant certifications.
